The Basic Relationship
The basic relationship for the materials(aggregate) package in use on the concrete plant is the most important aspect for establishing 3rd party accredited supply. Without a basic relationship which has been laboratory trialed and plant confirmed you will not qualify for Kitemark
Establishing a basic relationship involves carrying out laboratory trial mixes for your package of materials at a range of cement contents. The results of the trials enable you plot a basic strength curve establishing the compressive strength produced for any given cement content at a given slump. The relationship is then expanded by factoring in such things as slump adjustment, cement type adjustment, water reduction from admixture addition, use of air entrainment, fibres etc.
Dascon will assist with this by organising trial mixes and producing polynomial batch data and strength lists from the results. This information is then used to produce batch books and strength lists to enable calculation of any set of mix figures. We will also maintain and verify this data for your three yearly technical records audit.
In addition Dascon can use the basic relationship data to provide an excel batch calculator which will calculate the batch figures for any mix. The calculator uses the basic parameters Concrete Grade, Aggregate Size, Slump, Cement Type to generate figures quickly without need for cross referencing separate batchbooks and strength lists. The batch calculator can also be fitted with cost pricing features to enable calculation of margin on any mix based on material costs, job location and associated plant costs(all configurable).
