Mix designs are produced by referencing the batchbook and strength list data generated from the original basic relationship trials and taking into account current cusum and material variations. The mix design is always indicative of material performance at time of issue and is subject to change should material performance change been date of issue and actual supply
Mix designs are useful where customers may not give a full specification or the specification can not be obtained in written format as they can be issued to project consulting engineers for written approval to confirm suitability. The mix design will also highlight where there are any design chemical (DC) requirements, exposure classes, chloride classes etc, or whether aggregates meet the requirement to be shrinkage resistant
